Because in this video, I&#8217;m going to show you <strong>thoroughly the entire upgrade process of the firmware<\/strong> so you can repeat the process correctly and easily by yourself. My name is Ruth, and thank you so much for joining us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Compatibility and Devices<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m going to upgrade the firmware of <strong>JBL Flip 5<\/strong>, but the upgrade process is the same on <strong>JBL Flip, JBL Extreme, and JBL Charge<\/strong> models and the firmware upgrade will be done through <strong>iOS and Android smartphones and tablets<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparation for Upgrade<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>And to make sure the entire process will be done successfully and easily, we need to do the following things:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Fully Charged Device<\/strong>: We need <strong>fully charged JBL Flip 5<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Stable Internet Connection<\/strong>: Your phone should be connected to a <strong>stable Internet connection<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pairing<\/strong>: Pair between <strong>JBL speaker and your smartphone<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Proximity<\/strong>: Keep <strong>JBL speaker close to your smartphone<\/strong> during the entire upgrade process<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Downloading the JBL Connect App<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Go to <strong>Play Store or App Store<\/strong> and search for <strong>JBL Connect app<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Install<\/strong> it and at the end of the process <strong>open the app<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To use the app, we need to agree to the usage terms of <strong>JBL<\/strong> by clicking on the <strong>accept button<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Recognizing the Speaker<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The app will try to recognize your <strong>JBL speaker<\/strong> and during the process, you will be asked to <strong>grant permission to connect your speaker<\/strong>. So click <strong>allow<\/strong> and <strong>allow using the device&#8217;s location service<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Checking for Updates<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>When the app connects to your <strong>JBL speaker<\/strong>, it will recognize its model and the current software version. If a software update is available, then after a few seconds, the status will be changed to &#8216;<strong>Software Update Available<\/strong>&#8216;. <strong>Press it to continue<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Understanding the Benefits<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In the next step, it will show you how the new software update will benefit your <strong>JBL speaker<\/strong>. To continue, <strong>press on update<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Upgrade Process<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Phase 1: Transferring<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>The first phase is <strong>transferring<\/strong>, and you will receive an estimated time until the process is completed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It can take some time, so keep the app open and keep <strong>JBL speaker and your smartphone close to each other as much as possible<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Phase 2: Updating<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>The final phase is <strong>update<\/strong>. During this process, your <strong>JBL speaker will turn off and then turn on again<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At the end of the update process, you will receive a message: &#8216;<strong>Update successful, you&#8217;re set<\/strong>&#8216;.
